5th La Plata International School on Astronomy and Geophysics (LAPIS): Space geodesy applied to geodynamics and atmospheric research
The 5th La Plata International School on Astronomy and Geophysics (LAPIS) has been held on October 29th - November 4th, 2017, in the Facultad de Ciencias Astronómicas y Geofísicas de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in the city of La Plata, Argentina.
With its thematic guidelines this 5th LAPIS has been without precedents in South America and had both actuality and local relevance. The original Announcement for the School can be found here (web) and here (pdf), whereas its Programme can be found here.
In summary, both the theoretical classes as well as the practical exercises were successfully completed. In total, 34 students attended to the school: 12 students from the local university (UNLP), 11 students from several Argentine universities (from the provinces of San Juan, Mendoza, Tucumán, Tierra del Fuego and Catamarca) and 11 students from outside Argentina (from Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile).
